| Nina Hole has done a number of these site firings around the world. The form (usually an arch) is constructed over a firebox, then it is wrapped in kaowool and fired overnight. The unwrapping at dawn is an exciting moment, when the form is exposed, red hot!
Nina did an arch on the Napa Valley College campus for the last Clay and Wine 1996. The arch was badly vandalized, and had to be removed. |
